Cool, I'm excited about Hartman, with luck he'll be like another Shaw type guy i heard. That'd be sweet, two crazy little guys running around getting in everyones face then scoring game winning goals haha.

The Blackhawks are shaping up to have another really disgustingly hard to play against bottom-six in a few years.

Bravo, French.

You nailed this. Not sure I put Morin ahead of McNeill, but not sure I don't either. Well done.

Its not all about size, size is great if they can skate. But the Hawks didnt have a HUGE team (nor did the bruins for that matter, they matched up almost pound for pound against the Hawks) but all of those guys (Hawks and Bruins) played big. Top 6 talent is needed, but bottom 6 is just as important.

Hartman was a fine pick, I wouldn't have been upset if Nonis chose him at 21.

Well done. My only comment would be that I expect McNeill to end up on the wing in the NHL.

very weak prospects outside of teuvo, but its not like they're drafting top 10 every year either (went through the pens rebuild a few years ago). Great core for years to come, but I still believe Crawford isn't the real deal, having one of or the best top 4 d core really helps

I don't agree with your assessment of Morin. From watching him in Rockford, I don't think he skates fast enough to be able to nail down a top 6 wing position. I think his ceiling is more of a 3rd line wing who can be physical who will also chip in on the score sheet.

Otherwise, good blog.

While only TT has the real potential to be a top 6 player every other prospect has a decent chance of making the team in some kind of role. Chicago proved, if you were paying any attention, that if a team has a strong nucleus it’s team depth that separates a great team from a good one. As far as Crawford goes few will argue he is the beneficiary of a great defense, both defensemen and team but why would a Canadien fan mock this when during it’s golden years Ken Dryden was that same good not great goalie who benefited from perhaps the greatest defense corps ever assembled?

Nice job French, think the Hawks are really counting on Mcneill to develop? Especially after trading Bolland

Him and Danault. I would guess they are really hoping Kruger or Pirri can be their second line centre soon.

He'll be a fan favourite in Chicago in 2-3 years. Nobody hates the guy who plays 110% every single shift of every single game. True character guy!

i agree, Dryden is the most over rated goalie in history, it's why he retired early when the core left. As I mentioned the hawks have that core for years to come, great management. Glad us hab fans got a gm groomed by scotty bowman...yes I said scotty not stan

Very good assessment, thank you for putting it together.

Like Eli and JJ I think that you may have overrated Morin a bit. While Morin may make the team this year I don't think he has the high end potential of some of the other guys. At this point I'd rank McNeill and Clendening above Morin. Hartman may end up being better too, but I think it's too early to tell.

I do think Smith will have a positive impact on the bottom 6, most likely on the 4th line. I think Smith is slated to take Frolik's role on the 4th line and PK.

I think Stan is the one hoping for Pirri...I get the feeling that Q is not to high on him. I think Q pushing Saad into the conversation for 2C is reflective of his thoughts on Pirri's game.

Nicely done sir.

For my nickel, McNeill should be bumped one position to #3. Also I'm of the opinion that the lines are singled up on the good ships Olsen & Beach and are going to sail off into the night to be never to seen again. Finally I'm going "homer" on you. No Mac Carruth?

Can't recall Saad as a centre, was that in the USHL?

Garrett Ross might have deserved some mention. Not in the top 10 but somewhere - good year at Saginaw. Think he is in Rockford this year.
